Privacy Policy
This policy describes data handled by the Journal Scribe generation service at journal-creator.onrender.com (the “Service”) when a WordPress site connects with a service key.
1. Data we receive
Depending on the request, the Service may receive:
- Service key (serial)
- Site URL
- Random site id created by the plugin on the WordPress install
- Tick URL and tick secret used only to call the site’s schedule endpoint
- Post context needed to write an article or image (for example site profile summary, language, topic, product references, and related planning fields from plugin settings)
A plain reachability check to /health does not require a key or site identity.
2. Why we process it
We use this data to validate the key, prevent unauthorized multi-site use of a key, generate the requested article or image, and optionally wake the site’s schedule when WordPress cron is delayed.
3. Upstream processing
Article and image generation is performed using model providers configured on the Service host. Prompt content derived from the post context is sent to those providers solely to produce the response returned to your site.
4. Retention
Key status, site binding, and operational logs needed to run the Service may be stored on the Service host. We do not sell personal data. Generated content is returned to your WordPress site; keep copies there if you need them.
5. Your choices
Do not save a service key if you do not want the plugin to contact this Service for generation. You can remove the key from Journal Scribe → Service at any time. Reachability checks stop when you stop opening the plugin’s admin screens or deactivate the plugin.
6. Contact
Privacy questions: contact the plugin author through the WordPress.org support channels for Journal Scribe, account aeeris.
